Mildred Edwards

Memorial service for Mildred Ruth Edwards, 85, of Lubbock will be at
10:00 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2010 in Sanders Memorial Chapel with the
Rev. Randy Holman and Rev. Juan Calderon, Jr. officiating. Family and
friends may come to Sanders Funeral Home on Wednesday and Thursday to
pay final respect to Mrs. Edwards.
Mrs. Edwards went
to sleep on the 31st and woke up in heaven on February 1,
2010.
Mildred Ruth was
born August 27, 1924 to James and Elizabeth Tarlton. She was an
excellent roller skater, loved the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech
Football. During her later years, her main priority has been her
family.
She was married to
S.P. Edwards, who preceded her in death in 1989. Mildred was a
homemaker, a loving wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
great-great grandmother and friend. She was a long time member of First
Baptist Church and recently joined the New Covenant Baptist Church. She
lived her faith and was constantly in prayer for her family.
She was also
preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Kramer and Lurline Cloer; and
son-in-law, Will McGwier.
Loved ones left to
cherish her memory include a sister, Helen Louise Kelsey; five children,
Larry Edwards, Marla Gerdes and husband, J.L., Bonnie McGwier, Richard
Edwards and wife, Lissa, and Rhonda Welch and husband, Keith; ten
grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren, two great-great
grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews and many friends.
