Bertha Fritz
Bertha Fritz, 93, of
Lubbock, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 26,
2010 at her home. She was born March 7, 1916 in Williamson County near
Taylor, TX to Leon and Louise Melcher. Bertha moved to Lubbock County in
1924. She married William Fritz in 1936.
Bertha is preceded
in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Edgar and Leopold
Melcher.
Survivors include
sons, Don Fritz and wife, Jan of Lubbock, David Fritz and wife, Karen,
Kenneth Fritz of Lubbock; daughter, Carol Fritz of Lubbock;
grandchildren, Chris Fritz and wife, Sheila of Houston, Matt Fritz and
wife, Jennifer of Dallas, Susan Savkov and husband, Andrei of Austin,
Allison Fritz of Los Alamos, NM, Jenifer Mlekush and husband, John of
Greensboro, NC, Amanda Fritz of Scotland, and Laura Fritz of San
Antonio; great grandchildren, Calvin and Michaela Fritz and Ava Mlekush;
brothers, Robert and Lawrence Melcher of Lubbock; and sisters, Gertrude
Rogers of Roswell, NM, and Margaret McWilliams of Boerne, TX.
Funeral Mass will be
held at 10:00 a.m., Monday March 1, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic
Church original chapel with Rev. Michael Melcher officiating. Interment
will follow at City of Slaton Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:00
p.m., Sunday at Sanders Memorial Chapel.
