Wanda Sorensen

Wanda Modean Clayton Sorensen, 82, died on Wednesday, January 20, at her
home. She remains cherished by her four children. They are Vicki
Nichols Polk and husband Dr. Robert Polk of Lubbock, Kathy Taylor and
husband Charlie Taylor of Abilene, Randy Clayton and wife Rhonda Fay
Clayton of Frisco, Texas, Ronda Leech and husband Carey Leech of Belton,
Texas. Modean called her eight grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren” Maw Maw’s Angels.”
Born in Lockney on March 21, 1927, she attended schools in Littlefield.
Upon graduation, she met the “side grinning” Rex Clayton of Amherst,
Texas. They married and established homes in Littlefield and Earth,
Texas.
Modean was preceded in death by Walter Rex Clayton, husband of 29 years
and her second husband, George Sorensen, and her parents John Standifer
and Aileen Standifer Perkins.
She owned Modean’s Dress Shop and Just Petites in Lubbock and enjoyed
serving many clients and friends.
Graveside services will be Friday January 22 at 10:30 at the Littlefield
Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will be at Second Baptist Church
in Lubbock at 1:30. The Family suggests memorials to Hospice of
Lubbock.
