Annette Owen  

    Annette Owen, 96, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010.  She was born October 9, 1913 in Rata, Texas to Aaron and Inez Norcross.  She married Ira William Owen, Sr. November 7, 1930 in San Angelo.  He preceded her in death on September 4, 1978.  They moved to Lubbock in 1935.  She worked for Texas Tech University in the Textile Department classifying cotton for many years before retiring.  She was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church.

   Survivors include two sons, Ira W. Owen, Jr. of San Angelo and James D. Owen of Celina; two brothers, John Norcross and David Norcross; a sister, Billie Carlen; six grandchildren, Toni Vickers, Sue Anne Haney, Danny Owen, Tammy Knapp, Tracy Owen, and David Owen; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

   Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
