Ralph Riley  

    Services for Ralph Allen Riley Sr., 88, of Lubbock will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Sanders Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

   Mr. Riley passed away March 8, 2010. He was born June 1, 1921 in Attala County, MS to the late Richard Bell and Neva Burns Riley. Ralph proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Mary Ethelen Brown on May 9, 1948 in Jackson, MS and spent 55 wonderful years together before her death in 2003. Ralph worked for the US Postal Service for 27 years until his retirement. He was a member of Monterey Baptist Church.

   Survivors include a son, Allen Riley and wife, Linda of Los Alamos, NM; daughter, Liz Riley Applin of Lubbock; grandson, Nathan Riley; and a brother, Ed Riley of Columbus, MS. He is preceded in death by an infant son, James David Riley and a son-in-law, Mel Applin.

   Contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Monterey Baptist Church.
