Pamela Kay Moore

A Celebration of Life Service in honor of Pamela Kay Moore (McGee) of Spicewood, TX will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:00 am Sanders Memorial Chapel, with Mike Hollers officiating. Pamela, better known as "Pam", left the physical world and the body that failed her behind on October 28, 2017 after a valiant battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Born May 21, 1957 and raised in Lubbock, TX, Pam was the daughter of Loy McGee and Jodi (Miller) McGee. Loved ones include her treasured daughters Stacy Sheffield Teal and husband John, and Casey Sheffield Haley and husband John; sisters Scheila Vrubel and husband Larry, and Patti Brown; cherished and most perpetually bonded twin sister, Paula White and husband Mike; Three grandchildren, Kevin, 16, Nevaeh, 14, and Alton Jamison “AJ”, 12; the always devoted Tommy Williamson; and her four-legged companions, dogs Georgia Sue and Buddy. Pam, graduated from Coronado High School in 1975, continuing her education to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a Registered Nurse from West Texas State University in Canyon, TX. She stood firmly in her convictions, loved the Lord, and strived to live her life according to God's word, attending Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, OK. Nursing was her passion and her profession, though, and she continued with medical/surgical care then transitioned to epidemiology, quality control and later to pharmaceutical research. Working tirelessly to provide for her girls as a single mother, Pam continuously challenged herself to learn the newest computer technology, was mechanically gifted, and loved teaching in general, seizing every teaching moment with anyone she encountered, whether that be daughters, colleagues, care takers, and even pets. She had a knack for training dogs, teaching tricks to her most precious pets George, Georgia and Buddy, and her grand-dogs Mr. Fritz and Mr. Max. Always living life to its fullest, she took job opportunities that allowed her to fulfill her dream of seeing the country. Pam was an avid lover of sports, excelling in athletics during her secondary and post-secondary school years, and was a devoted Texas Longhorns fan, especially when they played Texas Tech! Gloating was not beneath her. In fact, she relished rubbing it in! She was an intensely focused and detail-oriented woman, but also a silly, fun-loving, and playful soul. She loved to laugh and share the newest (sometimes dirty) jokes she heard. Pam was not afraid to say, “I Love You” and show affection, and was always selflessly giving. Her happiest times were spent with her family, playing card games and Pictionary, and she especially treasured her time with her grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Mommom”. Some of her best memories were spent fishing with her grandson, AJ, drawing and playing computer games with her grand-daughter, Neveah, and visiting New England beaches and zoos with her grandson, Kevin. Pam loved listening to country music, eating Tex-Mex, and drinking Diet Coke with “soft, crushed ice”, and watching her favorite TV shows, including “Law and Order SVU”, talent and vet shows, and any Hallmark Channel movie or Christmas special because “there was always a happy ending”. She was a master at sudoku, amazingly beating the hardest levels in under 2 minutes! Over the past few years, she loved and wouldn’t miss her weekly dates getting Japanese food with her niece, Michelle and Michelle’s boys, Paxton and Maddox. She adored them and that time. You could always relax with Pam and be yourself, so being with her was always a joy. She never wanted to say, “Goodbye”, simply, “See you later”.
