Anna Lee Brito

Anna Brito, 53, of Lubbock, Texas passed away March 29, 2023. Anna was born April 4, 1969 in Lubbock, TX to Benny and Adela Brito. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1987 and received her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development from South Plains College. Loved ones include her parents, Benny and Adela Brito; brothers, Steve Brito (Allison) and Jerry Brito (Maria); sisters, Christina Brito-Tigerina (Art); and Michelle (Victor). Anna was preceded in death by her beloved grandmothers, Elvira Segura, Margaret Sanchez, Tia Chavela Alvarez, Tio Juan Segura, and niece Margaret Brito. To know Anna was to know joy, laughter, and strength. Anna's smile would light up any room she entered. She loved children and dedicated her career to teaching and making a profound impact in their lives. Anna loved to travel, dance, the color red, listening to classic rock, watching Friends and SVU, and going to the beach. She deeply loved her family, nieces and nephews, friends, her dogs, Taffy, Beauty, Little Girl, and Bruno. Anna was a devout Catholic who loved going to mass and praying the rosary. She had a special relationship with God and even in her own challenges, she showed compassion to the poor and less fortunate. The family would like to say a special thank you to Calvert Hospice for taking care of Anna with such compassion and dignity, especially Maisy, Alyssa, Miranda, Maria, and Julie. Thank you to her many doctors and nurses who provided excellent care for so many years, especially to Drs. Henderson, Scioli, Tjia, and R. Wolcott. Memorials are suggested in her name to Food for the Poor and ASPCA. Family visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home Thursday, March 30, 2023, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Rosary Services will be 7:00 p.m in Sanders Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday March 31, 2023 at Saint Elizabeth's Catholic Church with Reverend Father John officiating.
