Bernice Agnis Shuping

On Tuesday, March 23, 2021, Bernice A. Shuping, loving great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother passed away at the age of 84. Bernice was born on June 28, 1936 in Kress, TX to John C. Berner and Barbara Barbian. Bernice graduated from Kress High School in 1954 and spent the majority of her working career in retail, but also enjoyed some work as a nurse's aide at a nursing home in Lubbock, TX. While living in South Texas, Bernice met and married Eddie C. Moore on March 1, 1958. They raised one son, Russell, and three girls, Anita, Michelle, and Alison. Bernice always had a gift for creativity. She began crafting early in life, making clothes and quilts for her children and family members. As Bernice's skills improved she found that her creativity spanned further than making clothes. She began to crochet blankets, stuffed animals, bags, and many other personalized items that often found their way into the hands of her grand and great-grandchildren. Bernice frequently teamed with Cassandra and Stitching4Comfort, local craft shows and events to sell, and even donate, her creations. Crafting, gardening, and creating brought her great joy and fulfillment along with visits from all of her great grandchildren - all 13 of them! Bernice was preceded in death by her father, John C. Burner, her mother, Barbara Barbian, and her granddaughter, Christel R. Moore, beside whom she will be laid to rest. She is survived by her son, Russell Moore, and wife, Donna, and children, John, and wife Samantha, Cory, Aubrey and husband, David Rodriguez; her daughter Anita, and husband Wes Ward , and children Laci, and husband Kris Hay, and Dawn, and husband, Chance Williams; her second daughter Michelle Moore, and her children, Jody, Casey, Michea, and Drake; and her youngest daughter, Alison, and husband Jesse Malone III, and children Alexander, Joseph, and Katelyn Hubbard. Bernice also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren that she loved deeply, along with many nieces and nephews, and numerous grand-dogs, cats and one lizard. Services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 12 pm, at Sanders Funeral Home, 1420 Main St, Lubbock, TX. Flowers can be sent to Sanders Funeral Home.
