Donna Kay Ragland

Donna "Kay" Ragland, 82, of Lubbock, Texas was called home to our Lord on Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was born to J.L and Ruby Hooper on March 18, 1941, in Lubbock, Texas where she resided her whole life. She met the love of her life and married Lanny Robert Ragland Sr on March 27, 1981. She attended Lubbock High and retired as a County Clerk from the Lubbock County Courthouse. She was a member of the Bacon Heights Baptist Church. She loved spending time with family and friends, and her hobbies were painting, crocheting, reading books and quilting. She was preceded in her death by her husband, Lanny Ragland Sr., and former husband Jerry "Don" Cantrell Sr, children Jerry "Don" Cantrell Jr (survived by wife Pam Cantrell and former wife Karen Cantrell), and Donna "Cheri" Buhrman (survived by husband Brad Buhrman), along with many loving dogs who she loved and cared for. She will be remembered by her children, son James "Michael" Cantrell and his wife Melissa of Lubbock, Texas, daughter Leesa "Michel" Cantrell of Idabel, Oklahoma, stepchildren Bobby Ragland and his wife Kymmi of Graham, Texas and Linda Cantrell-Salvato and her husband Sam of Bryan, Texas. She had many grandchildren including: Jennifer Potter and her husband Lance of Longview, Texas, Tyler Cantrell and his wife Jannessa of Lubbock, Texas, Austin Schoepf and his wife Katrina of Saginaw, Texas, Bryce Hamilton of Dallas, Texas, Brandt Hamilton of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Laston Galyon and his wife Chandler of Lubbock, Texas, and step grandchildren Robby Ragland of Denver, Colorado, Payton and Caleb Ragland of Lubbock, Texas. She will also be dearly missed by 8 great grandchildren and her morkie "Mitzi" who she all loved and cherished dearly. A visitation for family and friends will be at Sanders Funeral Home Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 7:00pm-8:30pm. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 9, 2023 in the Sanders Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gib Weaver officiating. Graveside services will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery with a Reception to follow at Bacon Heights Baptist Church.
