Ethan Blake McBeath

Ethan McBeath, 19, of Lubbock, Texas went to be with Jesus on October 18, 2022. Ethan was born February 24, 2003 in Lubbock, TX to Brian McBeath and Christy Smith Terry. He graduated with honors from Lubbock Cooper High School in 2021. He was extremely creative and intelligent. His artwork was recognized with displays and awards at South Plains Fair, Waylon Baptist University, and Barnes & Noble. As a young man with both passion and an intense sense of empathy, Ethan was also subject to his own struggles, which he battled for several years. His smile was unforgettable and his infectious laugh, could fill up any room he walked in. He was a truly delightful, generous, easy-going, fun-loving human being. He was adored by everyone who met him. He was kind and tenacious with a loving and gracious spirit. He loved family hangouts, drawing and making people laugh. He was creative, with a mind too brilliant for this world yet his effortless love shined from within. Ethan lived with compassion and fierce independence. There wasn't a soul on Earth he didn't have a smile to offer or an interest in knowing. Everyone was a friend. He had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others and such a bright future. The world is a lesser place without him. We know the pain of his suffering. We know the pain of our own suffering as his family, and we know there are hundreds of other people here in our world suffering as addicts or as loved ones to them. Speaking the truths (no matter the circumstances) surrounding the epidemic of drug use may be the difference between life and death for someone. In honor of Ethan's life, we ask that truth be spread and awareness be raised. Loved ones left to cherish his memory include mother, Christy Terry and step-father Micheal; father, Brian McBeath and step-mother Sara; grandparents, Don and Beverly McBeath, Gary and Dianna Smith, Tony and Darla Blasingame, Robin Suttle; sisters, Aubrey Reyes, Sabrina McBeath, Serenity Terry; great-grandmother Barbara Holik; godparents, Ashton and Angelica Gildon; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Jerry and Mary Smith, and Laverne McBeath Mills; and uncle, Randy Smith. A visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home Sunday, October 23, 2022, 3:00 to 5:00 PM. A celebration of his life will be 11:00 AM, Monday, October 24, 2022 at The Worship Center-West Campus 7116-82nd Street with Pastor Jimmy Lucero officiating.
