Eva Margarita Castro

Margaret Castro A long blessed life full of God’s love has come to a most peaceful end at home surrounded by all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She waited for her beloved Pastor Ed Sena and wife Raquel to stop in for a visit. After Ed prayed and whispered in her ear she gave her last breath. As her daddy passed with his bible in hand, she also had hers at her side. Eva was born in Michigan on May 11, 1927 to Reyes and Inocencia Hernandez. Her nickname by the nurse was Little Michigan, which family called her Michie. Eva married her first love Manuel E. Castro. Although later divorced, he remained close by for her and us kids. At the most difficult time of her pampered life, she joined the work force for the first time in her life. She carried on thru very hard work to keep all her children together and cared for, up to retirement. Joyful Christian woman who lived by faith in Jesus. Her daily life line was prayer and bible reading. Just a week ago she prayed for all of us again with Jazzlyn by her side and that was the last one aloud. As head of her household, 3 years ago, Mom gave us each a Blessing one by one privately as we sat by her side, including her son-in-law, grand & great-grandchildren, a truly beautiful evening. We who are left to miss her dearly are 3 sons, Richard, Roy of Lubbock, Roberto and wife Elsa of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Rosalee “Penny” and husband Gabriel Carrizales; 3 sisters, Ruth Victoria and Austre; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed all from the oldest to the youngest of these four generations. She was blessed with these kids always hanging out with her after school. Preceded in death, Manuel E. Castro, their infant son; and granddaughter, Mona Lisa; 3 brothers, Ted, Tony and Jody; and sisters, Isabel and Juanita. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m at Sanders Funeral Home. Services celebrating Eva’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Recently Mom said, “Another big birthday party means lots of presents.” Mom still had jokes! What a lady!
