Jeff Statham

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Jeffery Ethan Statham, a beloved husband, son and friend, who left us far too soon on June 17, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 27. Born in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Weatherford Christian School in 2017 before pursuing further education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Jeffery was a dedicated and hardworking individual, beginning his career at Gene Messer Volkswagen, later contributing to the team at the Amazon Fulfillment Center. Most recently, he brought his passion for music and community to his role as a salesperson at Music and Arts Company in Lubbock, where he formed meaningful connections with colleagues and customers alike, always taking great pride in seeing someone receive their new musical instruments. Through his youth years, he developed his acting skills, participating in numerous plays and statewide competitions. He played football and was very much involved in airsoft games and competitions. He loved cars and car shows such as Top Gear, owning several cars known for sport and speed. He would spend many hours with Sarah's late grandfather Carl Bennett discussing cars and races. He developed relationships with teachers that stood the test of time, such as David Daugherty, Penny Fell who he visited years later. An avid gamer at heart, Jeffery found joy in the digital worlds of Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty and many, many others. He created many friendships by connecting with people through Twitch, an online social live stream network. He was also known as an animal lover, often sharing his affection for them both at home and in the community. This ranged from cats to snakes, as he was known for caring about all kinds of animals. On March 11, 2021, Jeffery married his soulmate, Sarah Christine Smith, in a beautiful ceremony that reflected their deep love for one another. He treasured his life with Sarah and was grateful for every moment spent together. Jeffery is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Statham, his mother, Sandra "Sandi" Statham, his stepfather, Dave Rutkowski, his father-in-law, Steve Gray, his mother-in-law, Rita Gray, and his grandmother, Nancy Williams, along with Sarah's brothers, Matt (Kendra) David (Della) and Shawn (Jami). A loving extended family included his natural father James Statham (Stephanie) and half sister Charlotte Jean, Sarah's grandparents Kathleen (Keen) and the late Carl Bennett, Uncles Corey Williams (Diana), Jerry Statham (Jill) Richard Williams and many cousins including Amanda Williams (Audrey) Gray, Nicole Williams Hardin, Jet and Jackson Statham. Many other cousins exist in his extended family and Sarah's many nieces and nephews. Each of these relationships played a significant role in the tapestry of Jeffery's life. A very important part of Jeff's development was from "Nanny" Fran and Steve Ashworth as well as their son Colby, who was as close to a brother as could be. Jeffery was preceded in death by his grandfathers Papa J Statham, who was his life mentor from birth through his passing and Don Williams. As we gather to honor and remember Jeffery Ethan Statham, we invite all who knew him to join in reflection, sharing stories and embracing the memories that he created in his short but impactful life. May he rest in peace and be forever cherished in our hearts be held at Sanders Memorial Chapel at 2:00 PM where Jeffery will be remembered lovingly.
