John Francis Homer

John Francis Homer was born on September 11th, 1954, to Louise Nanette Thomas Homer and William Francis Homer at the Great Lakes Naval base in Illinois. He was a graduate from Warren Township High School class of 1972. He obtained an associate degree at the University of Wisconsin Parkside in Kenosha. For many years he worked as a computer programmer software development engineer. Computers, his dog Marley, and his wife Ginger were his passion. He retired from ABC Supply Co corporate office in Beloit, WI. He is preceded in death by his older son Cameron Homer, his mother, Nan and his father, retired Judge William F. Homer. His surviving family are his son, Brett Homer and his brother Eric Homer, his wife Ginger of 20 years and her children and grandchildren; Amanda, Keith, Catherine, and nine grandchildren whom all adored, loved, and respected their "Grandpa John". His dog from the ASPCA- Monique whom he loved. John and Ginger moved from Wisconsin to Texas in the Fall of 2021. He enjoyed the milder temps here in Winter. John lost his battle with LGL Leukemia on September 26th at home with Hospice, his family surrounding his bed. He was brave, strong, and loved our Savior Jesus Christ. He will be sorely missed; he is in the arms of our Lord, resting, no more pain or suffering. He said he hoped at the end of his life that somehow, he had touched people's hearts and helped them. He wanted to give happiness to all. A special thanks to Gary Wells, John's best friend since 1st grade who made a special trip from North Carolina praying he would get here in time to say goodbye. He made it here and spent time at John's bedside talking to him; the ABC owner Diane Hendricks for the wonderful experiences they provided during his employment with this great Company. Our retired Pastor Kurt Verhoeven who spoke peace and accommodations to him on his death bed. He and his family were dear friends along with all the former church members. So, John's work here is done and we who loved him dearly must continue on until that glorious day when we will meet again in Heaven. I Love you John, my knight in shining armor, my heart will always belong to you.
