Jose Camacho, Sr.

Jose Camacho Sr., a devoted family man, talented musician, and proud Navy veteran, passed away on June 15, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. Born on November 10, 1947, in Port Lavaca, TX, he leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. Upon finishing his service in the Navy, where he reached the rank of MM3, Jose dedicated himself to his career as a receiver in grocery retail at Albertsons. His passion for music was evident through his love for playing the guitar and singing with his bands, showcasing his talents and bringing joy to many. A man of many interests, Jose also enjoyed cooking and staying up to date with current events by watching the news. His love for animals, especially his cherished pets, was a testament to his kind and nurturing spirit. Jose was a huge Dallas Cowboy, Texas Rangers and Texas Tech Fan. A man who enjoyed spending time with family and loved ones. Jose will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jose's memory lives on in his children, Gloria Camacho, Jose Camacho Jr. (Elizabeth) and Adrian Gabriel Camacho (Lori), as well as his siblings Pete, Donnie, Elida, Estella, and Steve. As well as his grandchildren; Virginia Arbizu, Ricky Gutierrez,Jr., Cassandra Guzman, Brittany Alejandro, Alexandra Camacho, Samantha Camacho Cassandra Camacho, Sadie Ramos and Zoe Camacho; nine great-grandchildren; Aryana Guzman, Jasmine, Alejandro, Jason Alejandro, Joyce Alejandro, Gabriel Arbizu, Jonah Alejandro, Jacob Arbizu, Eric Guzman and Jordyn Alejandro. His family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2024 and a Rosary at 7:00 pm in the Sanders Memorial Chapel. Mass of Chrisian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2024 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In honoring his commitment to service, Jose will be laid to rest at the Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park with military honors. His dedication to his country, family, and passions will forever be remembered. Rest in peace, Jose Camacho Sr. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Margarito Camacho and Cruz Camacho; daughter, Joann Camacho; siblings, Margarito Camacho, Susie Perez and Eva Garcia.
