Kay, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in Purio, Los Santos, Panama, on December 10, 1934, Julia spent her life as a devoted homemaker, nurturing her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. While serving in the U.S. Army, her future husband, Arlan Joel Kay, met Julia Ramirez. They married and shared more than fifty years together. Julia was an incredible dresser and was known for her beautiful, impeccable style. She was often complimented on her outfits and wonderful taste in fashion, which left an impression on everyone she met. But Julia's beauty went far beyond her appearance. She had a beautiful heart and was deeply devoted to her family and faith. She was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved, especially her grandchildren and great-grandsons. Julia was an incredible cook and took great pride in preparing meals for the people she loved. Her kitchen was often a place of gathering, filled with the comfort of classic Panamanian food, laughter, and stories. She also had a deep love for gardening and took great joy and pride in planting, tending to, and caring for her yard. These were among the simple pleasures that brought her happiness throughout her life. Julia is survived by her loving daughter, Cynthia Gentry, and her husband, Kirk; her son, Eric Kay, and his fiancé, Bobbi Somianka; her cherished grandson, Chase Gentry, and his wife, Jera; her granddaughter, Maile Gentry; and her great-grandchildren, Robert and Bruce Gentry. She also leaves behind her brothers, Santiago and Eudis; her sister, Francis; and her sister-in-law, Donna. They will forever treasure the memories they shared with her. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Arlan Kay; her parents, Santiago and Sinforosa; her brothers, Claudio and Catalino; and her sisters, Trinidad, Agada, Bienvenida, Lily, and Felicidad. Julia's life embodied love, resilience, and devotion to family. Her unwavering spirit and kind nature touched all who had the honor of knowing her. She will be remembered for her laughter, her wisdom, her beautiful style, her faith, and the love she poured into her family. She will be remembered in the everyday moments that made life with her so special-the laughter and stories shared around the table, the wonderful meals she prepared, the gardens she lovingly tended, the things she sewed, and the countless memories made with the people she loved. These are the moments her family will carry with them forever. Julia leaves behind not only a family who loved her deeply, but a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring them comfort and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
