With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kevin Andrew Hunt, age 59, who departed this life on July 2, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Lubbock, Texas. Born on March 24, 1967, Kevin was a devoted family man, a respected director at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, and a treasured friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Raised in Lubbock, Kevin was a proud graduate of the University of New Mexico, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. In 1991, he married the love of his life, Ginger Hood, and together they built a warm and loving family. Kevin's greatest joy came from his daughter, Amy, whose laughter and spirit brightened his life every day. Kevin had many passions from great food and music to a love of the outdoors. He loved taking his wife and daughter to the mountains where together they would explore, try new experiences and be together as a family. His culinary skills were remarkable; his enthusiasm for cooking led him to become an enthusiastic food critic, forever perfecting his recipes and bringing smiles to the faces of those who gathered around his table. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ginger Hunt; their cherished daughter, Amy Hunt; his loving parents, Warren and Kathryn Hunt; and his dear sister, Melissa King. Kevin leaves behind a legacy of kindness, music, culinary creativity, and unwavering support for his family. Friends and loved ones are invited to celebrate Kevin's life and share cherished memories during the visitation, which will be held at Sanders Funeral Home on July 7, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on July 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Bowman Chapel of the First United Methodist Church. Following the service, Kevin will be laid to rest at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the World Craniofacial Foundation or the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, honoring Kevin's compassionate spirit. As we gather to remember Kevin, we will celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an appreciation for the little things that bring us joy. His memory will forever resonate in our hearts.
