Marcia Ann Ellis

Marcia was born and raised in Tulia, Tx on May 17th, 1948. She moved to Lubbock in 1967, where she graduated from Jesse Lee's Cosmetology College. My cousin Nancy Wood was a client of Marcia's and she set us up on a blind date. We met on June 27th and were married less than three months later, on August 20th, 1968. Love at first site? I don't know, but this was our 53rd year of marriage together when the Lord called her home. After a couple of years working in the field for my pipeline company, we returned to Lubbock and Marcia went to work for Fulton's Barbershop in Briercroft Center. Marcia was part of a bevy of beautiful blonds known as the "Fulton Girls". In 1977, we were blessed with our son Jayton Allen Ellis and as everyone knows that was her biggest blessing and the one thing that gave her so much joy. After Jayton was grown, she was asked to work at Dr. Wolcott's office assisting nurses with wound care patients at various care facilities and hospitals. Marica was the definition of someone with a "servant heart". In January of 2016 we were again blessed with the birth of her grandson Jax Mason Ellis, whom she loved so dearly along with Jax's mother Jessica Pacheco. Marcia had one sister, Sarah "Janie" Howell, who she spoke with almost every day. Janie married Fred Howell one of Marcia's oldest and best friends. Janie and Fred were here for Fred's fathers 108th birthday when Marcia passed so unexpectedly. The Lord blessed her with the opportunity to see her son, her grandson, her sister and myself before she passed. Marcia loved County Western music and our greatest times were going out dancing together. The two step, Cotton Eyed Joe and Polka always got us on the dance floor, but her absolute favorite was the Waltz. Her other favorite thing to do was to go on motorcycle trips to New Mexico and Colorado with our dear friends Kay and Bill Young. Marcia and I were fortunate to see so many beautiful places while she was here. She enjoyed spending time with her closest friends, Peggy and Maurice, Harold and Jeanie, Patsy and Arthur, Kathy, Debbie, Teresa, Sharon, and so many more I cannot name them all. That was the most beautiful thing about Marcia, she loved everyone, and they loved her. She was the best in all of us. This year we had planned to take our vintage trailer to visit many other beautiful places together. Although our time was cut short, I know we will see each other again in heaven and there we will embark on more great adventures together. I am reminded of the words from Alan Jackson song, "Stroll Over Heaven with You" ... "so many places of beauty we long to see here below... But time and treasures have kept us from making plans as you know... we will meet on some glad day, and I will stroll across Heaven with you." Go rest high on that mountain my sweet wife and know that you will be truly missed. On behalf of her son Jayton, myself and her grandson Jax, we want to thank everyone for continuing to be a part of our family and our lives. We are so honored by the out-pouring of love and the overwhelming amount of support we have received from so many people Marcia impacted while she was here.
