A celebration for the life of Maria Leuteria Garcia will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 2pm. at Sanders Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joe Guerra officiating. A visitation will be come and go on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 7:00 to 8:30 at Sanders Funeral Home. Please celebrate the life of Maria by visiting www.sandersfuneralhome.com. A webcast of services will be available as well as our online guest book. Maria Garcia, 67, of Lubbock, Texas passed away September 3, 2021. Maria was born November 9, 1953, in Tulia, TX to Juan Garcia and Maria Garcia. (Maria was strong in her faith and loved Jesus. She thrived when she was helping people and doing for others. She was always given friends rides, delivering meals, and just spending time with them. She loved cooking for her family even though recently stating that she lost her touch for cooking. She enjoyed playing card and board games with her sister Lupie and Daniel. She always loved going to her sister's Gloria for Saturday brunch and spending time with her family. She was always so excited to be able to visit her brother Paul and sister-in-law Maggie in Abilene. She was very crafty from sewing, crocheting, and arts and crafts. She sure loved her plants and flowers. But most of all she loved being a social butterfly. She was always visiting someone, hanging out at the community centers or at the stores (clearance shopping) as she would say "I'm just looking". But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren doing puzzles, making birdhouses and just about anything they wanted to do. Maria never met a stranger and would always make friends everywhere she went. She loved to talk (man, could she talk!!). She loved jamming to her music, playing it as loud as it would go. She loved family, life and God. Loved ones include son Christopher Garcia, daughter-in-law Tammy Garcia, grandchildren Levi and Lilli Garcia, bonus grandchildren Aubrielle and Christian Martinez, daughter Jessica Garcia and fur babies Charlie & Louie. Brother Paul Garcia of Abilene, Sisters Lupe McGinnis and Gloria Adame, both of Lubbock and a loving bunch of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Juan Garcia (Father), Maria Garcia (Mother), John Garcia (Brother), Manual Garcia (Brother) and Isiah Garcia (Brother).
