Marilyn Jo Keffer

Marilyn Jo Keffer passed away March 7, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born on July 11, 1937, in Littlefield, Texas and was the 2nd of five children of George and Montre Tucker. She attended and graduated from Anton High School in 1956. She married her husband Ray Keffer on January 31st, 1971. She lived and worked in Lubbock at the South Plains Mall from 1981 until her retirement in 2002. After retirement she moved out of Lubbock to Littlefield, Texas to get away from the hustle and bustle of a big city. She later moved to Levelland, Texas where she spent the rest of her years. Marilyn was a loving and caring daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and Nana. She will be greatly missed by the many family and friends lives that she blessed. Marilyn had many friends that she met through all stages of her life that she enjoyed catching up with whenever she was able to. Marilyn loved many things. First and foremost, she loved the Lord. She attended Trinity Church in Lubbock. She found peace in attending church, praying for her family and knowing that her family members also love and follow Jesus. Her unwavering faith is one of the things that she bestowed upon her family and friends when anyone needed words of support. Marilyn also loved her faithful dog sidekick, Tootsie. Yet, most of all, Marilyn lived for and loved her family more than anything. Family time is one of her most cherished moments with her family. Whether it was during the holidays or anytime there was a family function, she loved playing numerous games and talking and laughing with her family. She was a big supporter of anything her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a part of. Birthdays, sporting events, weddings, she always made a point to try and attend them all. One special memory, among the many memories that will be missed, are the fun and creative games and prizes she would bring to every holiday event. It was always something fun for both the adults and children and she would get so much joy out of watching her family enjoy what she had prepared for them. If you knew Marilyn, you knew she was always thinking about her family members, friends, and loved ones and she took every opportunity to let them know because she would send greeting cards, emails and text messages for every holiday and occasion. She made sending greeting cards an art by finding and sending the most perfect and specific card for every milestone in her families life. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Keffer; son, Bobby Taylor; siblings, Charlene Tucker, Shirley Ann Tucker, George Tucker, Jr.; one grandson, two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Those left to cherish her memories include daughters, Renea Livesay and husband, Roland; LaJean Yoakum and husband, Ed; and Debbie Kirkland; sister, Betty Tucker; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Family visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home Sunday, March 13, 2022, 4:00 to 5:30 PM. A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 PM, Monday March 14, 2022 in the Sanders Memorial Chapel at Sanders Funeral Home with David Savage officiating.
