Mikaela Dawn Reynolds

Mikaela Dawn Quick Reynolds was a daughter, a friend, and an inspiration to many. Her positive approach to life and quirky sense of humor brought smiles to people’s faces as it warmed their hearts. Although born in Irving, Texas, Mikaela spent most of her childhood growing up in Breckenridge, Texas, where she was active in several student organizations, especially the Buckaroo Band. There Mikaela showed her school pride and leadership abilities as the captain of the flag corps. Mikaela was a graduate of the University of Houston (she’d insert a “Go Cougs!” right here), and was a highly regarded professional asset to several companies over the years as a Human Resource director and consultant. Mikaela was the epitome of what it means to be a true friend. Mikaela never forgot a friend or loved one in his or her time of need, and she knew just how to lend support and encouragement to those who were experiencing struggles in life, even if she was going through a struggle herself. When Mikaela was facing the great adversity of a health crisis, she faced it bravely and with an incredible positivity that inspired the loved ones who surrounded her. She did not fear death because she knew the Lord and knew He had a place for her. Instead, she spent her time deepening her faith through Bible study when she wasn’t out pounding the pavement trying to put all of her “plans” in place. When she’d go visit at a friend’s house, she’d often announce, “The sun is shining because I’m here!” And so it was. The sun really did shine down upon us when she was near. Mikaela Reynolds is survived by her mother, Margaret A. McCann of Hideaway, Texas; her father Frederick Quick and his wife Jill of Waco, Texas; her in-laws, Ed and Evelyn Reynolds of Lubbock, Texas; her best friend and sister-in-heart, Regan Edwards Lamberson, and her family of Lubbock, Texas; and many other friends and loved ones. Mikaela is no longer battling with sickness and the hardships we face while here on this earth. Instead, she is rejoicing in her true home with Jesus. She made an indelible mark on her loved ones who she left behind for now, and we will truly miss her. We will think of her often and rest assured that one day when we too are called Home, we will get to see her again in a great celebration in heaven!
