Sherri Lyn Henly

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sherri Lyn Henly, a beloved wife, step-mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on November 30, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on April 16, 1964, in Lubbock, Texas, Sherri lived a life marked by love, dedication, and a deep commitment to her family. Sherri graduated from Slaton High School in 1982 and went on to attend Texas Tech University, where she began her journey as an ambitious and passionate individual. On January 5, 1998, she married the love of her life, Dan Henly, and together they built a beautiful family in their cherished Lubbock community. As the owner and operator of Slaton Monument Company, Sherri dedicated many years to her craft, leaving an indelible mark in the monument industry. She was a proud recipient of international monument award winning designs. Her commitment extended beyond her business; she proudly served on the Board for the Southern Monument Builders Association, helping to elevate standards in her profession. Sherri was heavily involved in the design and construction of the Lubbock Tornado Memorial and many memorials around the campus of Texas Tech University. Sherri's family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dan, her loving mother, Linda Waller, and her supportive father, Donald Conner. She leaves behind her brother, Dr. Stacy Conner, and sister-in-law, Debbie Conner, of Muleshoe; as well as her beloved step- sons, Stuart, Tommy (Amie) and Clayton Henly. Sherri was a proud grandmother to Evie, Rowen, and Asher Henly, who will carry forward her spirit of love and joy. Known for her avid love of dogs and her exceptional culinary skills, Sherri found happiness in the simple pleasures of life-a glass of fine wine, joyful family gatherings, and the thrill of traveling to explore various wineries. A true sports fan, she cherished watching Texas Tech games and had recently developed a fondness for cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. Sherri loved Nascar Racing and was able to travel to various Nascar Events. Sherri's life was rich with love, laughter, and unyielding devotion to those she held dear. Her compassionate spirit and quiet personality touched the lives of those around her, creating lasting memories. No formal services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter in Sherri's memory, honoring her passion for all living beings. As we remember Sherri Lyn Henly, let us reflect on her kindness, strength, and the love she shared so generously with those fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
