Stephen Mark Harvey

Stephen Mark Harvey, born on January 25, 1961, in San Angelo, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 64. Stephen was the oldest son of loving parents, Sharon and Rodney Harvey. He was the proud older brother to Coy Lee Harvey. Steve went through the Lubbock school system and graduated from Lubbock High School. As a young man, he loved to bowl, camp, and play baseball. He met and married the love of his life, Teresa Ann Elliott, over 45 years ago. He lost his lovely wife Teresa, in May of 2024, after a lengthy illness. Steve was a devoted husband and proud father to his two children, Christal Harvey and Derrick Harvey. As their Dad, he coached both Christal's softball teams and Derrick's baseball teams leading them to many victories and encouraging teamwork and fair play. Later, Steve treasured his role as "Gramps" to his only grandchild, a grandson named Skylar. Steve loved to cook and share his food with others. He was considered a "grill master" by his friends and family. He was often accompanied around the grill by his faithful dog Randa. Throughout his life, Steve enjoyed fishing. He developed this love as a young man while fishing and camping with his Dad, Rodney. He also loved his mountain getaways to Ruidoso with Teresa. Steve worked in the transportation industry as a devoted driver for UPS for 30 years. He retired from UPS with a perfect driving record. It was his hope to have more fishing trips during his retirement years. Steve found great joy in the company of his immediate and extended family and Teresa's family. He had many nieces and nephews, along with many great nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed many wonderful times with cherished friends including Toney Dykes, Jim Wynn, Stan Spears and deceased buddies Mike Williams and David Stanky. A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be held at Sanders Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:30 am. Following the service, his remains will be cremated, honoring his wishes. Stephen leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and joy that will not be forgotten, especially by his beloved Mother, children, other relatives, grandson and friends. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Harvey and wife, Teresa Harvey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Lubbock or Grace Manor Children's Hope.
