Sue Ann Rule

Sue Ann Roberts Rule was a caring mother, mimi, great grand mimi, sister, aunt, niece and friend. She left this world peacefully on April 16, 2021 at age 70. She was born to Walter Wayne Roberts and Vera Louise Roberts on September 19, 1950. Sue is survived by her older sister, Jo Herington and husband Robert (BOB) of Illinois and younger sister Carla Webb of Texas. Sue graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas and attended college at South Plains in Levelland, Texas and Alvin Community College in Alvin, Texas. She resided in Texas, Virginia, Maryland, and New Mexico. Sue loved to write and had poetry published in two poetry compilation books. Sue also loved to crochet, sew, and craft. Sue crocheted many blankets throughout the years, especially for her 3 grandchildren. Sue sewed and decorated adorable outfits for her granddaughters. Sue taught her granddaughters to sew and bake and helped her oldest granddaughter, Jaynie, win a 4-H sweepstakes award at the fair. Sue was a caregiver to the elderly for many years and she dearly loved the last person, Dorothy Ahbramson, that she was a personal caregiver for. For many years Sue and Dorothy travelled to many locations together to see the sights and visit family. Sue worked at Town and Country Food Stores and Waste Control Specialists in the last years of her employment and was a volunteer EMT on the Eunice Fire Dept. Sue was dearly loved by all those she worked with and always made friends but her closest friend and Sister from God was Connie Barnett of Clovis, New Mexico. Sue loved her family and always put them first in her life. She had one daughter, Shelly King, of Hobbs, NM. and husband Darrell Clem. She had 3 grandchildren, Jaynie Parsons and husband Cragg, Crystal Harris and Fiance Nathan Smelcer, and Kolbe King and wife Cheyenne all of Hobbs, NM. Sue had one daughter from God, Penny Bruton of Hobbs, NM. She had 5 great grandchildren that were the light of her life, Katelyn, Jayden, Zaydan, Gabriel, and Isabella. Sue had 5 nieces, and many grand nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held for Sue on Saturday May 1st at the Lubbock Cemetery, 2011 E. 31st St. Lubbock, Texas at 11:00AM Central Time.
