Wanda Lee Hill

Wanda Lee Hill, beloved mother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 86, in her hometown of Lubbock, Texas. Born on June 15, 1939, Wanda was a shining light in the lives of many, known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit. From a young age, Wanda embraced her family's calling, helping her father on their farm while developing a deep love for music. At just 12 years old, she began playing the piano at her local church-an endeavor she continued for most of her life, offering joy to those around her. After graduating from Abernathy High School in 1957, she pursued further education at Draughon's Business College, which laid the foundation for her dedication and work ethic. Wanda was a devoted homemaker, creating a nurturing home for her sons, Norman, Steve and Lance Hill. Her love for life extended to her passion for travel, as she joyfully rode alongside her husband on their motorcycles, exploring together the beautiful roads of Texas and beyond. Together, they found joy in sharing their musical talents with residents at nursing homes, bringing smiles and comfort through their performances. In 2010, Wanda faced the sorrow of losing her beloved husband, yet her strength remained steadfast, continuing to cherish the memories they created together. Wanda is survived by her sons, Norman Hill and Lance Hill; her brother, William Smith; and her cherished grandchildren, Janna LaRue and Mandy Hill. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, music, and resilience. Visitation will be held at Sanders Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 6:00-7:30 PM, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived. The funeral service will take place in Sanders Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM, celebrating Wanda's life and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park-Lubbock. In honoring Wanda's memory, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and music-a life dedicated to family, faith, and the joy of giving. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Mancil and Gladys Smith, her husband, Condoy Hill, and son, Steve Hill.
