Bettie L Herrin

July 26, 1926 - January 6, 2022

Bettie Louise (Hart) Herrin of Anton, Texas, 95, passed away Thursday, January 6th, 2022. Bettie was born on July 26, 1926 in Anton, Texas to Ed and Virginia Hart. She was a graduate of Anton High School and got her bachelors degree of Home Economics at Texas Tech University. She received her master's of counseling at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1973. Bettie enjoyed her years in education as a teacher, counselor and librarian at Anton, Littlefield, and Springlake-Earth schools. Bettie was a member of the Anton First United Methodist Church. She was active in the local senior citizens and helped run the recycling program and museum in Anton. Those that preceded her in death were E and Virginia Hart, her mother and father and Eddie Hart, her brother. Bettie is survived by her three children. Daughter, Ricki McMillan and husband Rodney of Levelland, Texas. Son, Randy Herrin and his wife Kathy of Anton, Texas. Daughter Nancy Moore and her husband Steve of Anton, Texas. She was also survived by grandchildren Brandon Fisher, Shayne Fisher, Kyle Rayburn, Nicole Johnson, Brian Hubbard, McKenzie Herrin, Megan Harrison, Chad Moore, Whitney Moore, and Stephanie Moore. She also had 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bettie's family would like to thank the staff at the Isle at Raider Ranch for her care. We would also like to thank Traditions Hospice and her nurse, Tina for caring for her in her final days. Visitation will be held on January 14th, 2022 at 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas. Graveside service will be at the Anton Cemetery on January 15th, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
