He attended Lubbock High School Class of 1955. Bobby served in the Army National Guard from 1955-1964. He married Melba June Holeman on January 20, 1956 in Clovis, NM. He was an electrical contractor and owned Highland Electric for 43 years. Loved ones include his wife of sixty-five years, Melba Holland; son Steve Holland and wife, Joyce; daughter Sharla Pierce; grandchildren, Kristin King and husband, Ryan; Brandon Holland; Camille Blanco and husband, Jacob; Sean Pierce; Jackson Merritt; Macy Merritt; great grandchildren; Carter and Ella King; Mia Pierce and Rylan Blanco. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bonnie Frazier. Memorials are suggested to Children’s Home of Lubbock or your favorite charity. Bobby and Melba enjoyed countless summers in Silverton Colorado and later in Eagle Nest New Mexico in their RV with their family and friends. One of Bobby’s favorite activities in Silverton was catching trout at Molas Lake. He loved to share his passion for the mountains and nature with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He also enjoyed meeting new people in the places they camped and many of those people became lifelong friends. Bobby enjoyed riding his motorcycle or 4-wheeling on the mountain trails. Bobby and Melba were founding members of the South Plains 4 Wheel Drive Club and the Roaring Springs Ranch Club. Bobby was an avid hunter although later in life he enjoyed just sitting in the blind and watching and photographing nature. For a time, they owned a cabin at Possum Kingdom Lake where Bobby would catch boat loads of white bass and revel in teaching his kids and grandkids how to do the same. One of Bobby’s favorite activities was catching you off guard and giving you a good goosing making you almost jump out of your skin and then having a good chuckle. We’ll miss him like crazy. See you later, Pop!
