J.W. (Dub) Stephens walked into the arms of Jesus Christ on June 15, 2021 at 11:30 p.m., surrounded by family at home. A huge family awaiting to greet him on the other side. His biggest treasure was the love he had for his family. Left behind awaiting time to join him: wife, Betty Henry Stephens; daughter, Davonna Serrano (Ric) of Arizona; son, Walter Stephens (Amy) of Lubbock; Tonya Colvin (Tracy), Arizona; sister, Wanda Lampp, Lubbock; sister-in-law, Nina Tramel, Lubbock; sister-in-law, Francis Stephens, Lubbock; brother-in-law, James Britt Henry, Costa Rica, grandchildren, Jeremy (J.W.) Colvin (Courtney), Dallas, Sarah Licht (Terry), Arizona, Trevor Stephens (Christian), Lubbock, Derek Shane Stephens (Lauren), El Paso, Jacob Colvin (Angela), Nashville, Stephen Serrano, Nashville, Ricky Serrano, Arizona; great grandchildren, Jaret, McKenna, Charlotte, Liam and Jayden (J.W.); special sister and niece Nina and Penny, many nieces and nephews join family in love. Mack and Sharon Fry, Lorraine Serrano, Ben and Saroj Misra, Dale and Bobbie Young. Thanks to hospice caretakers Taylor, Amy, Jay, Laura, Maria, Michelle and Serena. Dub was a dry wall contractor. After God and family, he loved music, played guitar, sang tenor in the church choir. A wonderful sense of humor and very patriotic. Known for the famous hootenannies at home. He believed in God, family and country. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 19th and 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 20th at Sanders Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 21, 2021 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Any donations can be made to Hospice of Lubbock.
