Martin Valencia Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Martin Valencia passed away with his family by his side on November 29th, 2021, at the age of 52. Martin was a lifelong resident of Lubbock, TX. Martin is survived by his wife of 20 years, Teresa Valencia, his two sons Alejandro and Armando Valencia, his sister Matilda Valencia, brother Roman Valencia, and his grandson Alejandro Lee Valencia Jr. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Benjamin and Araseli Valencia. Martin was a graduate from Estacado High School, where immediately after graduating, he enlisted into the Army. During his service, he served as a medic during Desert Storm. After his military service, he and his high school sweetheart Teresa Hernandez married. Thereafter, he began his civilian worklife, by working in construction with his father at Hamilton Acoustical Company and later as a prison guard at John Montford Unit. Martin was a kind hearted man who had a gift in making people laugh. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His joy in life was his grandson Alejandro Jr., and his many nieces and nephews. Everyone who knew Martin, loved him for his kind generous heart, gentle spirit, and for the funny comedian that he was. Martin loved shooting guns, deer hunting, fishing, listening to music, watching movies, singing to his wife and spending time with his two sons and family. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. A Rosary is scheduled for Monday, December 6th, 7pm at Sanders Funeral Home with a public viewing to follow. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 8th, 2pm at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. Graveside services will be at Lubbock Cemetery directly after the service.
