Peggy Jo Roberts

February 8, 1935 - January 29, 2022

Peggy Jo Roberts, 86, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on January 29, 2022. Peggy was born February 8, 1935, on a farm in Oklahoma to Vera Audrey Gatlin and Virgil William Gatlin. Peggy was energetic, vibrant, and young at heart. She loved feeding people. Her spaghetti, chicken and dumplings, pot roast, and coconut cream pie were masterpieces. She also enjoyed working in her yard and taking daily walks through her neighborhood, where she was a resident for fifty years. Peggy was an avid supporter of Texas Tech athletics and loved college football. Her favorite color was purple, she delighted in her morning cup of coffee with half & half, and her home was often filled with the sounds of praise and worship music. Peggy is survived by three of her children: Deborah Roberts, Kimberly Garrett, and Jay Roberts and his wife, Melissa. Other loved ones include her seven grandchildren: Eric Riegel, Shenai Moore, Ryan Riegel, Chris Rockey, Cassie Rindahl, Brandon Lewis, and Lathan Foster. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, four sisters, one great grandchild, and her youngest daughter, Amy Roberts.
