Samuel Rodriguez, 58, of Kress, Texas passed away January 31, 2022. Sam was born September 20, 1963, in Lubbock, TX to Tony Rodriguez and Elvin Rodriguez. Sam attended schools in Idalou and graduated from Idalou High School. He then attended South Plains College and graduated with an Associate's Degree. Sam worked numerous jobs and found his calling for Home Health where he cared and loved for the elderly. Sam found the love of his life, Mary, in 1993 and they were married in 1999. He loved sports and his team the Dallas Cowboys and Red Raiders. But nothing compared to the way the loved the Lord. He will be remembered for his smile, the love for this mother and his family. Loved ones include spouse Mary Rodriguez; mother Elvin Rodriguez Padilla; daughter Jennifer (Chris) Luna; son J.P. Tijerina; sister Monica Hernandez (Phillip) of Idalou, TX; sister Diana Bravo (Albert) of Idalou, TX; granddaughters Brittany Luna, Samantha Luna, Jasmine Denton, Jeslyn Hernandez; grandsons Phoenix Denton, Jermiah Tijerina, Jasiah Tijerina; great granddaughter Marliee Aldana and Jett Denton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Tony Rodriguez (Father); and Francisco & Maria Rodriguez and Justo Sr. & Adela Garcia (grandparents). Family visitation will be at Saint Philips Catholic Benizi Church Friday, February 04, 2022, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2022, in Saint Philips Catholic Benizi Church with Father Rene Perez officiating. Graveside services will follow in Idalou Cemetery.
