Solia Garza

Solia Garza, 86, of Lubbock, Texas passes away January 19, 2022 Solia was born September 17, 1935, in Martindale, TX to a Fernando Hinojosa and Margarita Perales. She married the love of her life, Fermin, in 1953 and lived on a farm in West Carlisle where they built their first home and lived out their lives together. She was a housekeeper at nursing facilities for most of her life until she retired at the age of 72. When she wasn't with her grandchildren, you could find her playing bingo on a Friday and Saturday night. She was a huge Texas Ranger fan, as well as the Dallas Cowboys. She loved traveling, shopping, eating sweets, making tamales, tortillas & nopales. She was faithful to her Church. Loved ones include son, Mike Garza and spouse Melanie of Lubbock, TX; Grandchildren include, Michael Garza and wife Madi, Meagen Garza and wife Brooke. Great grandchildren include Annistyn Garza, Harper Turner, and Isabella Gisonno. And her special protector, an 11 year old German Shepard, Athena. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Fermin, Fernando Hinojosa (Father), Margarita Perales (Mother), and Margie Hernandez (Sister). Survived by siblings, Linda and spouse Frank Parra, Arthur Hinojosa and Nando Hinojosa. Family visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home Monday, January 24th from 5-7PM. A celebration of her life will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 26th, at Saint John Neumann, with Father Jim McCartney officiating. Graveside service in Resthaven Memorial Park.
