A celebration of the life of Tom Holder, 66, of Lubbock, Texas will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 16, 2020 in Sanders Memorial Chapel with Judge Tom Head officiating. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Sanders Funeral Home. Tom was born November 15, 1953 in Seminole, TX to Wayne Holder and Mary Holder. Tom served in the U.S. Army right after graduating from Coronado High school. Over the years Tom has severed in law enforcement in varies capacities, from a police officer in Midland, TX to a 911 Operator in Mansfield, TX to finally a correctional officer at Montford unit in Lubbock. He loved serving in law enforcement, even taken classes at Tech to better his knowledge. Loved ones include daughter Emily Hargrove; son Christopher Holder; daughter Holly Holder; Father Wayne Holder; sister Shelly Iversen; sister Belinda King. He was blessed with eleven grandchildren as well as two nieces, one nephew, and many cousins. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Holder. Tom was one of a kind. He loved everyone he came in contact with and never met a stranger. From his family, that he adored, to his friends (two legged and four-legged alike). He had an infectious smile, a kind spirit, and a big heart. If you were around him, you know how much he liked to joke around especially if it was a joke that could make you blush or just to get a reaction. He was the type of person that was always there for you, day or night. Tom was the happiest when playing with his Grandkids and spoiling them rotten. So many people loved Tom and he will be greatly missed by all. Even though Tom endured several health issues over the past few years he never let that break his spirit, and now he is pain free in the arms of our Lord and Savior. Tom would’ve wanted us to celebrate his life with one another. He wanted us all to share his memories and the love that he gave, with others.
