A celebration of the life of Wilma Jean Brining Riegel, 92, of Lubbock, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 in Sanders Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Savage officiating. Graveside services will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, June 04, 2021 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home, 1420 Main St, Lubbock, Texas. A webcast of the service and an online guest book will be available at www.sandersfuneralhome.com Wilma Jean Brining Riegel, 92 of Lubbock, Texas, was received in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Memorial Day, May 31, 2021. She was born June 28, 1928, in Great Bend, Kansas to Ray and Beula Brining. Wilma graduated from Great Bend High School in 1947 and attended Hayes College. She married the love of her life, Donald Atherton Riegel, on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1948. After their marriage they operated Riegel and Sons Dairy in Great Bend. Their journey together took them to Roswell, New Mexico, Artesia, New Mexico, El Paso, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona before making their final home in Lubbock, Texas in 1975. Wilma was an active member of Trinity Church and was especially grateful for the fellowship of the Prime Timers. She was quick-witted, compassionate, and had an uncontrollable, contagious laughter. She was a caring and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Most of all, she was a joyful servant to her Lord and to her family as she showed unconditional love and was loved deeply in return. Loved ones include daughter, Karen Schneider and husband, Steve of Amarillo, Texas; son Bruce Riegel of Austin, Texas; son Daryl Riegel and wife, Dana of Temple, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Dalbom Bowline; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Atherton Riegel, and their son, David Wayne Riegel.
