With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Alma Allene Edge, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this world on September 2, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on October 15, 1946, in Littlefield, Texas, Alma lived a life filled with compassion and unwavering love, leaving a lasting mark on all who had the honor of knowing her. Alma was a beacon of strength and kindness, recognized for her patient and energetic spirit, which radiated warmth to her family and friends alike. She possessed an extraordinary passion for her children-Tammy, Jimmy, and Betty- as well as her cherished grandchildren, embodying the very essence of a devoted matriarch. Her unwavering support and encouragement manifested in countless ways, from fostering a nurturing home to ensuring that her children's dreams turned into reality. In addition to her role as a loving mother, Alma was a champion bowler, proudly reigning as the top New Mexico Women's Bowler from 1970 to 1980-an accomplishment that mirrored her determination and commitment to excellence in all aspects of her life. Her love for family extended beyond her own children, as she and her beloved husband, whom she wed on November 31, 1963, in Oklahoma Lane, Texas, opened their hearts and home to numerous foster children throughout the years. Their marriage of 49 beautiful years was characterized by a devotion that was immediate and profound, forming a cornerstone of their family life. Alma was also a woman of faith, holding a deep knowledge of scripture that underscored her values and provided guidance throughout her life. She spent her days indulging in the simple joys of life-sharing lunches with family, shopping for treasures, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones. She actively engaged in her community, always striving to uplift those around her. She is survived by her devoted children, Tammy Walker, Jimmy Edge (Anita), and Betty Massey (Kenneth); her brother, William Talley; and a host of friends and family who will remember her incredible spirit and loving nature. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Garlan Edge; her father, Alan Talley; her mother, Georgia Talley; her brother, Wayne Gilreath; her brother, Robert Talley; her brother, Steven Talley; her brother, David Talley; her brother, Kenneth Talley, Jr; her sister, Linda Rainey; and her sister, MaryLou Goodale. As we reflect on the life of Alma, we are reminded of her legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering support. She will be deeply missed but eternally cherished in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing and her spirit continue to inspire those she touched.
