Clydie Mae Baker

Clydie Mae Baker of Wichita Falls, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 10, 2025. Clydie was born on February 13, 1931 in Tenaha, Texas to the late Clyde Franklin Patterson and Amanda E. Worsham Patterson. Upon graduating high school, she moved to Lubbock, Texas. She married Charles Woodrow Baker on August 17, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. She began working for Commercial Credit and then Ford Motor Credit Company, where she worked for thirty-six years before retiring in 2001. She came to know Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of twenty-five. Throughout her days of attending church, she was a Sunday School teacher to young children and sang in the choir. In 2003 she moved to Spokane, WA to live with her daughter Dawn Schaffer and her family. She attended Faith Baptist Church faithfully. Upon the retirement of her son-in-law Mark from the United States Air Force, the family and Clydie moved to Wichita Falls, Texas in 2006. She then became a member of Victory Baptist Church. If you ever were to stop by and visit Clydie in the mornings, you would be sure to find her reading her Bible and reading devotions. Her goal every year was to read the Bible through at least twice. As she progressed with her Alzheimer's disease, she still continued reading God's Word and was a faithful prayer warrior. Her grandchilden and great grandchildren were the apples of her eye. She loved them dearly even though she wasn't able to spend much time with them due to them living in different states. Clydie loved to read Christian Amish love stories, do crochet and cross-stitch work and work crossword puzzles. She loved collecting Cardinals and displaying them around her room. One of her favorite things to do was spend time with the family dog, Windie, which pretty much became her dog. She is preceded in death by her parents Clyde Franklin Patterson and Amanda E. Worsham Patterson; her husband Charles Woodrow Baker; her infant daughter Gloria Gail Baker; her sisters Yvonne Gibson, Maurine Ellis; brothers JC Patterson and William G. Patterson. She is survived by her son, Charles Wayne Baker of Wichita Falls, Texas and daughter Dawn DeShelle Schaffer and her husband Mark of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildren, Amelia Gayle Rehn and husband Landon of Green Bay, Wisconsin and Christopher Warren Schaffer of Grand Rapids, Michigan; three great grandchildren, Charlotte Avinlee Rehn, Lucy Madeline Rehn and Clark William Rehn all of Green Bay Wisconsin; sister Nelda Jean Spruiell of Lufkin, Texas and several nieces and nephews. She had an infectious smile, was loved by all and will be missed greatly.
