Gary Richard Jackson, known to his family and friends as Dickie, was born on August 4, 1944, in Dell, Arkansas, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, leaving behind a legacy woven with love and cherished memories. He lived a life dedicated to family, resonating with laughter and warmth, as he embraced his roles as a devoted husband, father, and proud Grandaddy.Dickie's journey took him from the fields of Dell to the bustling city of Lubbock, where he thrived as a respected car salesman until his retirement. His remarkable ability to connect with others shone brightly in every interaction, earning him lasting friendships and deep respect in his community.He is survived by his beloved spouse, JoeAnne Jackson, and his children, Mindy Jackson and Corey Jackson and daughter-in-law Jessica. The joy in his heart grew exponentially with the arrival of his grandchildren: Kobie, Cohen, and Rose, who illuminated his life with their laughter and love. He found immense happiness in their presence, nurturing a bond that will forever remain etched in their memories.As a passionate fan of NASCAR, Dickie spent countless hours watching races, cheering on his favorite drivers with an enthusiasm that matched the thrill of the sport itself. If Dickie wasn't watching a race, he could be found cooking out for his family and friends. These moments spent immersed in his interests were not merely pastimes; they were a celebration of life, shared with family and friends who understood his passion.In every story told and every memory shared, Dickie's spirit endures. Dickie's journey may have reached its end, but the love he shared continues to resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.Dickie was preceded in death by his parents, Farmer and Linnie Virginia Jackson; his siblings, Edith Eoff, Farmer Jackson, JR, Billie Boren, Dixie Thaxton, Harold Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Carolyn Veach and Larry Jackson, and step-son Sam Arrington. Memorial service will be held at in Sanders Memorial Chapel Wednesday July 23, 2025 at 10:00am. Inurnment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery at 11:30am.
