Donald Michael Megliola

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Michael Megliola of Lubbock, formerly of Dallas, TX and of Dedham, MA. Don died June 28, 2022, at the age of 73 after battling for many months with significant health issues. Don was born in Boston, MA and grew up with a love and passion for art, music and history and it was in the suburbs of Boston where he began a long career in the construction industry. He unfortunately had to give up his dream of attending art school to join the Marine Corps, where he satisfied his love and admiration for the US military. After returning home from the Marines, he began a long career in the construction industry. He had an admiration and great appreciation for higher learning and was a major motivating factor to his children in them seeking out undergraduate and master's degrees from some of the top colleges in the country. Through an amazing work ethic and dedication to his craft, he went on to become the VP of Construction for major national brands like Burger King and Au Bon Pain, in the 1980s and 1990s, before taking a similar position with Chuck E. Cheese, which eventually helped him escape the cold weather in the northeast to the sunshine and heat of Dallas, TX. As the beloved husband of Brenda Rowse Chisum Megliola, whom he married on October 20, 2007, he leaves behind his three children Don Megliola, Christine Cason, Lisa Forster and his three stepchildren Jordan Chisum, Jenny Chisum and Justin Chisum. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Don Thomas and Ella Megliola (of Don Megliola), Tyler and Eva Cason (of Christine and Carlos Cason) and Madeline and Trent Forster (of Lisa and Forrest Forster). Recently, he became a loving dog owner once again and leaves behind Button who he spent many mornings with while drinking his coffee and passing out handfuls of doggie treats, just because he wanted to. Don loved home cooked meals, chocolate chip cookies (with extra chocolate chips) and his favorite place of Destin Beach Florida. He was a loving man, that always tried to make those around him feel supported and loved. He worked very hard in life and always wanted the best things in life for his family. His ailing health robbed him of his later years, but he will always be remembered for having a great laugh, a bright smile, and a way of always making others feel like things were ok, even during tough times. Don is preceded in death by Donald E. Megliola (father), Margaret Megliola (mother), Kylee Marie Forrest (granddaughter) and leaves behind Melissa Foley (sister) and Lynne Montcrieff (sister). A celebration of his life will be 10:30 am Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Southcrest Baptist Church with Danny Henderson officiating.
