It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved uncle, Jose "Joe" Castillo Corrales. He was a pillar of strength, love, and unwavering devotion to his family. Joe peacefully departed on June 4, 2023, leaving a forever cherished legacy. Born on December 8, 1952, in Pecos, Texas, Joe was the cherished son of Ygnacio Corrales and Trancita Castillo. Joe's life journey was filled with love, dedication, and humility. On July 22, 1978, Jose married the love of his life, Connie Ontiberoz. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey, sharing 44 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their union was a testament to the strength of putting God at the center of their marriage through life's joys and challenges. As a loving father, Joe was blessed with one son, Nick Garcia Rodela. He poured his heart and soul into guiding Nick through life, imparting wisdom, and providing a loving presence. In addition, Joe's nieces, Stephanie Montoya and Savanna Garcia, held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the moments spent with them, creating memories that will be forever cherished. Joe's completed his high school studies at Levelland High School. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock, Texas. He was an active and devoted member of the Catholic Church, drawing strength and guidance from his faith. Professionally, Joe was a skilled bricklayer, leaving his mark on numerous structures throughout his career. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident in every brick he laid. Finally, after many years of hard work, Joe retired, allowing him to focus on the things that brought him immense happiness. Joe's quiet demeanor and humble nature endeared him to all who knew him. He faced the battle of cancer with courage and resilience, embodying the true spirit of a cowboy. Though he may have ridden away, his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Joe's love for horses and the ranching lifestyle was evident to all who knew him. He found joy and peace in the saddle, spending countless hours riding, caring for his horses, and tending to his beloved ranch. His ranch became a sanctuary where he created lasting memories for family & friends. Joe Castillo Corrales is survived by his loving wife, Connie Corrales; his son, Nick-Rodela Garcia; his five grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and inspiration in his life. He will be deeply missed by his brothers, Tony Corrales and his wife, Anita Corrales, Oscar Corrales, Florentio Corrales, Lupe and his wife MaryAnn Corrales, Ruben Corrales, Abel Corrales, Johnny and his wife Mary Corrales, as well as his sisters, Josie and husband Daniel Quintanilla and Arminda (Minnie) Alamager. Joe's memory will forever be cherished by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ygnacio and Trancita Corrales, and his sister, Maria Escobedo. Although we mourn his loss, we find solace in knowing that although we mourn his loss, we find solace in knowing that Joe has gone to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. A funeral ceremony will be held on June 8, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock, Texas, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the beautiful life of Jose "Joe" Castillo Corrales.
