LaTrell Thompson Haveman, born on September 26, 1938, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, due to natural causes. LaTrell lived a life full of dedication and hard work, primarily as a bookkeeper for R and T Trucking Lines and Texas Roofing Company. LaTrell was known for her unwavering strength and tenacity, qualities that defined her character throughout her life. Described by those who knew her as both stubborn and strong-willed, she approached each day with a kind heart and an unbreakable spirit. Her commitment to her family was unparalleled, capturing the essence of her belief that family came first in all things. In her personal life, LaTrell passionately embraced her interests. She was a devoted sports fan, cheering wholeheartedly for Texas Tech Athletics, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Texas Rangers. She was also immensely skilled in embroidery, quilt making, and crochet work, creating beautiful pieces that she lovingly shared with family and friends. A vibrant participant in her community, LaTrell was a regular at Zach's Club, a local gym in Lubbock, where she enjoyed maintaining her active lifestyle. Her lively spirit and passion for life will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving daughter, Allyson Haveman, her brother Archie Thompson, and sister-in-law Brenda Thompson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. LaTrell's family and friends will remember her warmth, kindness, and the laughter she brought to their lives. LaTrell was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Haveman, her father David Thompson, her mother Lura Thompson, her brother Butch Thompson, her brother David Thompson, her sister Louise Stewart, her sister Bessie Davis, her brother James Thompson, and her brother Charles Thompson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Sanders Memorial Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service commencing at 11:30 a.m. Following the service, LaTrell will be laid to rest at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. We invite all who knew and loved LaTrell to come and celebrate her remarkable life, to share in sweet memories, and to honor the indelible mark she left on our hearts. In our sorrow, we also find hope, knowing that her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she cherished most.
