Linda Dell Coers

It is with a heavy heart yet a spirit of celebration that we announce the passing of Linda Dell Coers, who departed this life peacefully on September 21, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 30, 1942, in El Dorado, Arkansas, Linda was raised in Coleman, Texas, where she formed a deep connection to her community and its values. A proud graduate of Coleman High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Abilene Christian University, fostering a lifelong passion for education that would leave a lasting legacy. Linda dedicated over thirty years of her life to teaching, primarily inspiring 6th graders at Lubbock Cooper Middle School. Her commitment to education was a testament to her boundless enthusiasm and love for nurturing young minds. After her well-deserved retirement in 2007, Linda continued to share her gifts in numerous ways, enjoying times of relaxation at home, attending church, engaging in Bible study, eating out and spending time with her friends, as well as playing the piano that brought her immense joy. Linda's greatest pride and joy, however, were her beloved family members. She cherished her daughter, Laura Schilling, and son-in-law, Bart Schilling; her son, Lance Coers, and daughter-in-law, Mandy Coers; as well as her five adoring grandchildren, Bryce Schilling (Keely), Brady Schilling (Haley), Brandt Schilling (Devin), Brooke Schilling and Ayden Coers. Lincoln, Ellison, and Sophia, her precious great-grandchildren, filled her heart with even more joy. In the spirit of celebrating Linda's life and legacy, we invite family and friends to gather for her services. Visitation will take place at Sanders Funeral Home on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:30- 7:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at South Plains Church of Christ on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, providing an opportunity to reflect on the cherished memories shared. Following the service, a Graveside Service will take place at Coleman City Cemetery at 3:00 PM, where we will lay Linda to rest and honor her remarkable journey. Linda's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to inspire for generations to come. Linda was preceded in death byher parents, Charles Newton and Maurine Newton of Coleman. Memorials are suggested to South Plains Church of Christ.
