Rebecca Arias Gonzalez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rebecca Arias Gonzalez, who left this world peacefully at the age of 68 on February 2, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on April 27, 1957, in Slaton, Texas, Rebecca was a cherished daughter, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A long-time resident of Lubbock, she graduated from Lubbock High School in 1975 and dedicated her professional life as a Unit Manager in the health care field at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She retired from TTUHSC after 26 years of service as a Unit Manager Rebecca's warmth and love were a guiding light to her family, which includes her beloved husband Alejandro "Alex" Gonzalez, her daughters Jo Mungia, Kassey Reyes Montoya, Angelica Reyna, and son Alejandro Gonzalez, Jr. She is also survived by her siblings Jesse Efrain Arias, Janet Martinez, and Veronica Arias, sister-in-law Andrelita Arias, as well as 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts. A devout member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and an active participant in the Guadalupana, Rebecca's faith was her cornerstone. Her number one concern was her deep love for Jesus, closely followed by her unwavering care for her family. She led a life filled with love, laughter, and joy, with a particular fondness for disco music, enjoying outings at the casino, and the thrill of scratch-off lottery tickets. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Rebecca's remarkable life. There will be viewing at Sanders Funeral Home on February 6, 2026, from 9:00-6:00 PM. A visitation will follow later that day at Sanders Memorial Chapel from 6:00-7:00 PM, leading into the Rosary at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on February 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Graveside service will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. In this challenging time, we find solace in remembering Rebecca's legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith-a reminder of how she touched the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace, enveloped in the love she so generously shared. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Apolonio and Josephina Arias, her brother, Isaias Arias and granddaughter, Harley Gonzalez.
