Mr Richard Allen Wilson

Richard Allen Wilson, a beloved member of the Lubbock community, will be celebrated and honored to commemorate his impactful and fun life. Richard was born in Lubbock, TX on January 1, 1939 and received his promotion to heaven on July 4, 2024, at the age of 85. As a dedicated Postmaster within the US Postal Service, Richard's passion for his work was evident through his commitment to be a loyal employee. In recognition of his dedication, Richard had the honor of naming one of Lubbock's Post Offices the Freedom Station, a testament to his love for his job and community. Richard's devotion to his wife, Patricia Wilson is inspiring as they celebrated 66 years of marriage together. He was especially proud of his family. His sons, Michael Wilson and his wife Sue, Mitch Wilson and his wife Mindy, Lance Wilson and his wife Sandy, and his daughter Mendi Wilson. Mendi went to heaven in 2014 and greeted her Dad upon his arrival. He loved his grandchildren! Burgundy Hahn and her husband Aaron, Tanner Wilson and his wife Cassi, Zaca Wilson and his wife Marissa, Taci Phaup and her husband Paeton, Jory Flores and his wife Megan, Anna Eittriem and her husband Kalen, Alicia Wilson, Wendy Nesby and her husband Eric, and Michael Ofenloch and his wife Lisa. He loved his great grandchildren too! Aidan Hahn, Bella Hahn, Ky Wilson, Eli Wilson, Strickland Phaup, Levi Phaup, Emmett Phaup, Scarlett Phaup, Eleazar Wilson, Micah Wilson, Josiah Wilson, Mila Flores, Kaylin Rentchler, Garrett Blanton, Abigail Ofenloch, Emily Ofenloch, Addie Eittriem and Emery Eittriem. He loved his great, great grandchild also! Mateo Velasco His spiritual connection with Jesus, shaped his very life. His warm heart and welcoming spirit extended beyond his family and career, as he served as a very faithful member of The Message Church. He joyfully welcomed fellow church members and guests as a part of the Greeter Team using his golf cart skills to welcome everyone to church and tell them a few great stories! In celebration of Richard's life, we will meet at the church he loved and helped build, The Message Church at 5502 Auburn in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, July 6th. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM and the Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 PM at The Message Church. As we come together to honor Richard, let us remember his love for old cars, his dedication to the postal service, his love for his family and most importantly, his unwavering love for Jesus. Jesus set him free from death and the grave on Independence Day! May his memory continue to shine brightly in our hearts as we celebrate a life well-lived.
