Rita Louise Ryan

Rita Louise Ryan, 74, of Lubbock, Texas went to be with the Lord April 11, 2022. Rita was born March 15, 1948, in Lubbock, TX to Venice (Pete) Alton Ryan, Sr and Pansy Anna Kelly Ryan. Rita spent her life in Lubbock. She attended Monterey High School. Rita loved to care for others any way she could. She cherished time with family and friends, would share wonderful family stories and was proud of her Irish descent. "She was an avid collector of anything having to do with lighthouses, and also an avid lover of music. Raised by musician parents: Pansy was a rhythm guitar player and Venice played lead guitar. She passed her musical ability and appreciation on to her children and grandchildren. Rita had an all around joy for life and a love of the Lord. Even in her pain and illness she was able to say a kind word, crack a funny joke, and give a beautiful smile. Rita had a generous spirit and loved to give whatever she had. When I helped sort her mail, I would find thank you notes for donations she made to various charities. Two of her favorites were The Alzheimer's Association and the Disabled American Veterans charities. Rita is survived by her four children, Christy, Michelle, Neil, and Randall; 17 grandchildren, Lauren, Kayla, Byron, Julian, Zachariah, Zimory, Cadence, Cadey, Colton, Clayton, Caelyn, Brayden, Zachery, Vivian, Alannah, Madalyn, Jabin, and 3 great grandchildren, Chloe, Leanna, and Journi; brothers, Venice Alton Ryan, Jr., Michael Ryan, and Samuel Louis Ryan, and sister Patricia Kay Ryan Niemeyer, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews . She was preceded in death by her father and mother, brothers Carol Francis and Daniel Andrew Ryan and sister Linda Sue Ryan Waddel. A visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home Sunday, April 17, 2022, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A celebration of her life will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 18, 2022, in Sanders Memorial Chapel with Hospice Chaplain Norma officiating. Graveside services will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
