Rosaura Rios Perez

Rosaura Rios Perez of Lubbock, Texas passed at home surrounded by family on Saturday May 16th, 2026. She was the eighth of fourteen children. Rosaura grew up in a loving family in the beautiful, lush green hills of the town of Aguada, Puerto Rico. From a very young age she worked on her family farm helping in any way she could. One of her favorite memories was listening to her father play guitar. Rosaura was a devout Catholic,and her faith was her strength. It was her faith that was a light for those she loved. She met and married Felix Perez in 1954 and the two raised three beautiful children. She was both a loving and faithful wife and devoted mother. As a dedicated military wife, she kept the house running whether he was stationed with the family or gone on active duty. In 1973, they settled in Big Spring,Texas after their last duty station at Webb Air Force Base. Not only was she a homemaker, but also she worked outside of the home as a skilled seamstress at the Big Spring Dress Factory and Wall's Garment Factory working many hours while still caring for her home. This amazing woman loved God, her family, cooking for her family, and even watching slapstick comedies. Family visiting her brought her so much joy. In return she would always cook as feeding her family was an expression of love. No one ever left her home hungry. Whenever possible, Rosaura also found time to visit family back on the Island. Her selflessness and devotion grew from her children, to her grandchildren, and then to her great grandchildren. The family always knew they were in her heart and prayers. Felix and Rosaura Perez were married for nearly 65 years. As all marriages, there are ups and downs, but she shared many decades with her husband until his passing in November of 2020. A few years after her husband's passing, she relocated to Lubbock, Texas, spending her remaining years devoted to family, serving them with food, love, support, and compassion. She is preceded in death by her husband, Felix Perez Perez, her grandson William Marshall Tucker, and her great grandson, Holden Marshall Tucker. She is survived by her children, Felix Perez, Elfi Tucker, and Harry Perez and his wife Lisa, as well as her eight grandchildren-Eric, Sean Gregory, Tony, Natalia, Annemarie, Alex, Elizabeth, and eleven great grandchildren. In loving memory, Rosaura Rios Perez, you will be greatly missed but never forgotten. "Love is the strongest force the world possesses, and yet it is the humblest imaginable."
