Travis Charles Davis

Surrounded by his family, Travis Charles “Semi” Davis passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2019. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 19 at 3:00pm at Faith Fellowship Church in Matador, Texas. Charles was born on September 8, 1960 in Matador, Texas to Clarence Ray and Eunice Lanell Davis. He married Lisa Strube Davis in 1984 and spent 35 blissful years married to the love of his life. The greatest joys of Charles’s life were made evident through his many roles as a devoted husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and grandfather. His love, honesty, compassion, and level of devotion simply cannot be put into words. Charles possessed an incredibly strong work ethic and a truly selfless heart. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. After starting his own commercial construction company in 1993, he found great success as an entrepreneur for more than 20 years and later enjoyed working as an independent insurance adjuster. In addition to the work he put into building his career, Charles also felt a tireless call to serve. Together with his wife, Lisa, he constantly sought to give back to the community. Being a man of strong Christian faith, Charles also served for many years with the Walk to Emmaus and Kairos prison ministries. He will always be remembered as a faithful servant of Christ. Charles had a way of making everyone feel like the most important person in the room. His vibrant personality and witty sense of humor drew many people near to him throughout his life. Even in death, he continues to be surrounded by a myriad of friends, family members, and acquaintances who are blessed to have known him. He is survived by his wife Lisa, his son Blakley Davis and daughter-in-law Beth, his daughter Charlea Munoz and son-in-law Joe, one granddaughter - Mary Ellen “Mellie” Davis, his sister Ray Baxter, his brother Robert “Pete” Davis, his three nieces - Kathy Varner, Paula Baxter, and Susan Forshaw, and three nephews David Baxter, Don Baxter Jr., Mike Davis, and John Troutman. He is preceded in death by his father Clarence Ray “C.R.,” his mother Eunice Lanell “Sis,” his brother Clarence Ray “Buddy,” his sister-in-law Francis, and his brother Don. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Llano Estacado Emmaus Community or the charity of your choice.
